Q: How much will a it cost to have a woodburning stove fitted?

A: This depends entirely on the type of stove that you would like to fit. Stoves range in price from £300 to over £5000. It also depends upon what sort of property you live in and they condition of your chimney stack and the sort of Hearth and surround that you currently have. Q: How efficient is a stove in comparison to an open fire?

A:An average open fire is approximately 20 % efficient which means 80% of the heat output will escape up the chimney. Most modern stoves claim to be around 70% efficient and if installed properly this figure could be even higher. But remember a lot of this efficiency comes from the fuel that is used.

Q: What is a stove made from?

A: This depends on the manufacturer. Traditionally stoves were always cast iron but with changing trends and increased manufacturing costs some stove companies have now opted to manufacture them out of steel in order to create different shapes and reduce costs.

Q: Are spare parts readily available for most stoves

A: Most manufacturers carry an array of spare parts for their stoves if they are not in stock they can usually be ordered quickly.
