Stove Project Overview

Hot Box ® Stoves were engaged to carry out a Stove Installation of a Parkray Aspect 6 which was recommended during our home survey.

STOVE

The Parkray Aspect 6 wood-burning stove is a stylish and efficient heating solution. Furthermore, with a nominal output of 5kW, this stove is designed to provide consistent heat for medium-sized spaces. Hence, this makes it an ideal choice for living rooms, dining areas, or even small open-plan layouts.

Moreover, featuring a heat output range of 4-7.5kW, the Parkray Aspect 6 allows you to easily adjust the heat output. Subsequently, you can adjust the stove to suit your preferences and the temperature requirements of the room. In addition to this, this versatility ensures that you can create a cosy and inviting atmosphere. No matter the weather conditions outside.

What’s more, with an efficiency rating of 80%, Parkray Aspect 6 is designed to maximise the conversion of fuel into heat energy. Further, the appliance is classified as Eco Design Ready and complies with standards documented by Chapter 6 of The Clean Air Act 2019.

INSTALLATION

The stove installation was carried out in accordance with HETAS Guidelines and Document J of Building Regulations.

Firstly, our team provided temporary protection to our client’s home, a standard practice at Hot Box.

To start with, our fitters removed the old appliance and swept the flue of debris. Following that, they lined the flue with a Schiedel 316-grade twin skin flue liner.

Next, our installers lined the recess with a fireboard in preparation for painting by others.

Our installers placed the stove into a position and fixed a galvanised steel plate to the underside of the recess. The closure plate and chimney were sealed with a high-temperature sealant.

Following that, our team connected the stove with the liner using twin wall chimney components as well as a stove pipe. The chimney flue was completed with the installation of a pot-hanging cowl.

Further, mandatory to all stove installations, a new Carbon Monoxide alarm was installed along with a data plate detailing the work undertaken by our teams of HETAS-registered stove fitters.

As part of each stove installation carried out by Hot Box, every appliance is tested and commissioned to ensure it operates correctly.

The process involves lighting a small fire to check connections and the adequacy of the draw. To ensure consistency, we use the Firestarter, the most convenient way to light a wood burner.

Moreover, the process of lighting the stove for the first time is demonstrated to our clients to ensure they understand the relevant air controls and mechanisms on their woodburner.
