Wood Burning Stove Maintenance

Looking after your wood burning stove maintenance is like having a classic car. If you give your stove plenty of TLC it will serve you well for many years.

We have a unique edit of products specially designed to assist you with looking after your stove. All available to order online with delivery directly to your home.

When looking after a stove it is important to inspect the following;

  • Empty the ashpan regularly
  • Clean the glass

Most modern stoves are fitted with airwash systems to keep the glass clean. If yours isn’t, clean your glass daily with a specialist cleaning product.

  • Check for rust
  • Clean the baffle/throat plate
  • Check rope seals
  • Get chimney swept

Calling upon the services of a chimney sweep at least twice-a-year is a vital part of your stove maintenance.

  • Leave the door ajar during extended periods of non-use

If you’re not planning to use the stove for the summer or it’s going to be out of use for longer than a few days for any other reason, leave the door slightly open.
