Stove Project Overview

Our client requested that the traditional fireplace and surround be removed to make away for a new wood burning stove.

The DG Aste was their wood burner of choice with its traditional looks it suited the nature of their room and style of their property.

The existing fireplace was removed and the recess enlarged in preparation for the new wood burning stove to be installed.

Importantly, a new reinforced concrete lintel was installed to form the new opening and make it structurally sound.

Further, a new 4 piece 30mm slate hearth was installed to replace what was previously there. The inside of the recess was finished with heat resistant calcium carbonate fire boards which can be decorated as required.

Thereafter, the face of the chimney was made good in preparation for decoration by the homeowner in a cooler of their choice.

A 316 grade flexible flue liner was then installed in preparation for the stove to be connected.

A DG Aste wood burner was chosen by our client which was connected by one of our teams of HETAS engineers.

The result is a fully compliant stove installation that will provide heat for many years to come, the client was happy too…

The end result

The DG Aste traditional wood burning stove.

The hearth is a 4 piece natural slate finish.

Inside the recess, a heat resistant board was used to provide a smooth finish ready to paint.

The Psalter was made good ready for final decoration.

Flue liner installed, stove connected, tested, and commissioned.

HETAS certificate provided and another happy Hotbox Customer. It’s a shame we don’t offer a decorating service too?
