So, let us tell you a story…

As the MD of Hot Box Stoves Limited I like to test the products that we sell. This process provides us with unique insight to help our clients. Several years ago I recall being the prod recipient of a shiny wood fired pizza oven. I wanted to get to grips with how they worked and what they cooked! As such, I instructed two of our guys to deliver said wood fired pizza oven. Having taken delivery of the unit and some appropriate wood fuel I set about building a fire, this was before our Hot Box Firestarter so I did it using kindling and small logs, so old hat! Moving on, I had spent the afternoon preparing some of Aldi’s finest pizza toppings and even made my own dough . Thereafter, I set about assembling my fist pizza! Once assembled, I floured my pizza peel and put it in the oven. Having mastered the ability to cook pizzas in my usual oven during university I turned around and headed to the fridge for a beer. There I located a bottle of Moretti, rooted though the drawer for a bottle opener and popped the cap. Thereafter, I turned to check progress in the oven only to see my first ever pizza engulfed in flames! In short, the answer is around 90 seconds, but don’t take your eyes off it! keep your turning peel handy and carefully fettle your pizza as it cooks! pizza cooking in wood oven
