Ecodesign 2022 vs DEFRA
DEFRA approved and Ecodesign 2022 what do they mean?. When installing a new wood burning stove it is important to remember that if you live in a smoke controlled area you will still need a DEFRA approved stove.
Ecodesign 2022 is a new European regulation that is concentrating on lowering emissions from wood-burning stoves.
Confirmed by HETAS
HETAS confirmed that an ecodesign 2022 stove will not solely be suitable for use in a smoke controlled area. You will still need to install a DEFRA approved stove. For the ultimate in efficiency, we recommend installing a DEFRA and Ecodesign ready model.
