Stove Project Overview

Hot Box Stoves was asked to replace an old stove in a local cottage. Our customers wanted a large 5kW stove with a sizable window to create a focal point in their living room. Taking into consideration the size of the room as well as the window requirement, our project manager suggested Hunter Stoves Aspect 6 woodburning stove.

The Aspect 6 offers a truly mesmerising view of the flames, making an alluring centrepiece in any room. Combining looks, controllability, and high efficiency, the Aspect 6 is an excellent addition to any home. This stove boasts our famous Tripleburn technology and offers a generous out of up to 7.5kW, making it an impressive all-rounder.

INSTALLATION

As with every installation, the works began with placing temporary protection in all areas where work was to be carried out. Once the customer’s old stove was removed, the chimney was swept and lined with a 316-grade twin skin flue liner. Next, the new stove was placed in the correct position and a galvanized steel plate was fixed to the underside of the recess and sealed with high-temperature sealant. The customer’s new stove was connected with the liner using twin wall chimney components. The chimney flue was completed with the installation of a pot hanging cowl. Once all debris was disposed of and the area where the stove was installed was cleaned, our HETAS registered engineers performed a smoke test using the one and only Firestarter. The smoke test ensures there is an adequate degree of draw and that all connections are sealed. Finally, in accordance with building regulations, a CO/ Carbon Monoxide Alarm and a chimney notice plate were installed.
