Stove Project Overview

We were asked to provide a quote to supply and install a Parkray Aspect 5 woodburning stove in a living room extension. Our customers wanted a modern-looking stove to add a focal point in their newly created space but also to serve as an additional source of heat.

The Parkray Aspect 5 stove is a powerful and efficient wood-burning stove that boasts a 5kW nominal output and a heat output range of 4-7kW, making it suitable for heating medium to large-sized rooms. INSTALLATION

The installation day began with placing temporary protection in all areas where work was to be carried out.

To start with, our engineers installed a suitable air vent.

Following that, the stove was placed on a square matt granite-style hearth and a black Schiedel Twin Wall Chimney System was installed to the top of the stove vertically through the ceiling and roof covering.

Next, a suitable lead flashing kit was installed together with a storm collar; the chimney system was completed with an anti-down draft cowl.

Once all debris was disposed of and the area where the stove was installed was cleaned, our HETAS registered engineers performed a smoke test using Firestarter. The smoke test ensures that there is an adequate degree of draw and that all connections are sealed. Finally, in accordance with building regulations, a CO/ Carbon Monoxide Alarm and a chimney notice plate were installed.
