Parkray Aspect 5 stove installation by Hot Box ® Stoves York

Hot Box ® Stoves York were engaged to carry out the stove installation of a Parkray Aspect 5 which was recommended during our home survey.

STOVE

The Parkray Aspect 5 multi-fuel stove is a versatile and efficient heating appliance. Furthermore, it combines modern design with high-performance functionality. With a nominal output of 5kW, this stove is designed to efficiently heat medium-sized rooms. This makes it an ideal choice for cozy living spaces, small cabins, or even conservatories.

Moreover, the stove features a heat output range of 4-7kW, allowing you to adjust the level of warmth according to your preferences and the specific heating requirements of the room. This flexibility ensures that you can achieve a comfortable temperature regardless of the weather conditions outside.

Boasting an impressive efficiency rating of 80%, the Parkray Aspect 5 maximizes the conversion of fuel into heat, minimizing energy wastage and reducing your overall fuel consumption. This high efficiency translates into cost savings and a more environmentally-friendly heating solution.

Further, the appliance is classified as Eco Design Ready and complies with standards documented by Chapter 6 of The Clean Air Act 2019.

INSTALLATION

The stove installation was carried out in accordance with HETAS Guidelines and Document J of Building Regulations.

Firstly, our team provided temporary protection to our clients home, standard practice at Hot Box.

To start with, our fitters removed the metal canopy and cart. Following that, they swept the flue and lined it with a Schiedel 316-grade twin skin flue liner.

They placed the stove into a position and fixed a galvanised steel plate to the underside of the recess. The closure plate and chimney were sealed with a high-temperature sealant.

Following that, our installers connected the stove with the liner using twin wall chimney components as well as a stove pipe. The chimney flue was completed with the installation of a pot hanging cowl.

Further, mandatory to all stove installations, a new Carbon Monoxide alarm was installed along with a data plate detailing the work undertaken by our teams of HETAS-registered stove fitters.

TESTING AND COMMISSIONING

As part of each stove installation carried out by Hot Box, every appliance is tested and commissioned to ensure it operates correctly.

The process involves lighting a small fire to check connections and the adequacy of the draw. To ensure consistency, we use the Firestarter, the most convenient way to light a wood burner.

Usually, the process of lighting the stove for the first time is demonstrated to our clients to ensure they understand the relevant air controls and mechanisms on their woodburner.
