Stove Project Overview

An old fireplace needed a makeover. 

The client engaged Hot Box Stoves to supply and install a new Parkway wood burning stove. 

Further, the existing fireplace needed to be altered to suit. 

Firstly, the old redundant fire had to be removed and the flue swept.

Further, due to the fact that the fire not been used a bird had managed to use the chimney to make a nest.

As such, a lot of debris came down when the guys were sweeping the chimney.

Thereafter, once cleared, the recess was opened up. 

A new lintel was installed and the internal surfaces made good ready for the new stove. 

The end result

The recess was lined with fireproof boards, not fire rated plasterboard, a new slate hearth was installed.

Lastly, a Geo Cast beam was fitted to provide a feature mantle.

Further, the plasterwork around the fireplace was made good ready for the client to redecorate the room after we had gone.
