316 Flexible flue liner, suitable for wood burning and multifuel stoves….
This 6″ 155mm flexible flue liner is manufactured by Schiedel and is the same stuff we have used to install all of our stoves for almost a decade.
It is of course possible to buy flexible flue liners online cheaper but often at the expense of quality.
This flexible flue liner is very well put together and does not come apart when inserting into even the tightest of chimneys.
At Hot Box, we have tried a number of different flue liner manufacturers over the years but have reverted back to Tecnoflex by Schiedel.
All of the complimentary components make the flue lining system easy to use and install ensuring a safe and compliant installation.
What parts will you need to line your chimney using a flexible flue liner?
- You will need an appropriate length of flexible flue liner, always add around 20% to the overall height of the chimney to account for any bends in the flue.
- A nose cone is advisable to help slide the flexible flue liner down the chimney.
- A pot hanging cowl, suitable to screw to the liner is advisable.
- A flexi to stove pipe adaptor should be used when connecting the stove pipe to the liner.
- Suitable high temperature sealants for making any connections.
- Self tapping screws for securing the pipe to the adaptor.
- A stove pipe and appropriate bends if needed to connect to your stove.
A brief guide to lining a chimney using a flexible flue liner….
If you are considering lining your chimney using a flexible flue liner please consider the following.
- Safe access to the top of the chimney to be lined.
- The designated chimney is in good condition and the pot is stable.
- That the flue has been swept clean before the liner is installed to avoid soot falls.
- The diameter of the flue liner relates to the diameter of the stoves flue outlet.
- There is sufficient length on the liner to make a seamless connection.
- You have an assistant to help guide the liner down the chimney.
Once the liner is down it should be secured to the top if the chimney pot. The easiest way of doing this is by using a pot hanging cowl.
The liner can then be cut to length inside the property and the flexi to stove connector can be installed in preparation for connection the stove pipe and then the appliance itself.
