Stove Project Overview

Dik Geurts Prostyle 650 EA Wood Burning Inset Stove and a Faux Chimney Breast with Promafour Board, and a 316 Grade Schiedel Stainless Steel flue liner and cowl.

Hot Box Stoves York, were instructed by our client to create a brand new false chimney. The remit of this project was to include a flush fitted inset stove.

Therefore our stove of choice on this project is the classic Dik Geurts Prostyle 650EA.

What is a false chimney breast?

A false chimney breast is a man made extrusion within a straight wall to provide the appearance of an existing chimney breast.

Often rooms do not have chimney breasts especially in newer properties. Or in some instances the original chimney breast may not stand proud enough moreover it could just be in the wrong position.

Either way building a false chimney breast is the best option to create that recessed effect and make more of a feature out of the fireplace.

Our in house team created the false chimney using a specialist promafour board and steel framework.

One of the benefits to adding your own chimney breast are the dimensions are your own but also its easier to install a stove with access.

Most noteworthy false chimneys are more often than not created to house a TV in the wall above a feature fire. However, in this instance our clients are concentrating on the fire other than the TV.

The project was completed by our guys within 1 working day including clearing away all debris and ensuring that the fire was commissioned for use to HETAS standards.

Our method of choice for lighting a wood burning stove is our very own Hot Box Firestarter. A fail proof option when it comes to lighting a fire.
