The timeline sees The Gozney story begin in 2008. 

After building a wood fired pizza oven in his own garden the founder started building the same for local restaurants.

The process of supplying ovens to business provided insight into the mechanics of wood pizza ovens. Thereafter, The Stone Bake Oven Company was formed. 

By 2012, the company moved into the construction of professional pizza ovens to compliment their range.

Further, within 2 years, the Gozney pizza ovens professional range had become the go to supplier of pizza ovens to some of the most coveted of restauranteurs.

With innovation critical to the success of any modern business, 2016 saw the launch of the Roccbox. 

Finally, in 2018 Gozney became the umbrella for The Stone Bake Oven Company, Gozney professional, and Roccbox.

Gozney Pizza Ovens |The latest news

So, since writing this post, exerting time, money and energy explaining the offerings from a brand who we consider would be a great addition to the Hot Box edit, we have some news.

By way of update from Gozney’s very own head of sales, Mr D Moorhouse, we have had confirmation that Gozney are no longer willing to supply retailers such as ourselves.

Our offering, for Gozney extended beyond an online shop presence but this year we were keen to include some of their offerings within our new outdoor kitchen display showroom.

So, just to be clear, the following products are now only available, if at all, via Gozney themselves…

• Roccbox | A terrible shame because we have had many clients requesting this product from us here at Hot Box.
• Gozney Black editions | A massive supply issue means that these cannot be offered at all, not even by Gozney until 2022 at the earliest.
• Stone Core | Again, a supply issue means we are not the only retailers missing out, Gozney themselves will not have these units for sale.
• Dome | A new offering from Gozney, shrouded in as much PR as the Tesla Cybertruck, without the sledgehammer, will we ever actually see one? Both of these are available for pre order but the actual release date is as mysterious as the Abominable Snowman…

So, in conclusion, we are of the opinion that Gozney are slitting their own throat by shutting out retailers such as ourselves, an interesting move on their part and a shame for clients of Hot Box.

Their focus now is on their own online platform and their flagship bricks and mortar store, when we can go in of course!

They have successfully made some great products, generated some great hype but failed, in our opinion to deliver on their promises.

Our view is this, if you have an idea that you believe to be good and you go about creating a demand for the same, make sure you can supply the demand or the entire exercise will be for nothing…
