To start with, out fitters placed the stove on a square matt granite-style hearth.
Following that, they installed a black Schiedel Twin Wall Chimney System to the rear of the stove. Then, through the wall at 45′ angle. Next, using 135-T bend, our fitters installed the chimney system up along the wall to a correct height in accordance with Document J of Building Regulations.
Finally, they completed the chimney system with an anti-down draft cowl.
Further, mandatory to all stove installations, a new Carbon Monoxide alarm was installed along with a data plate detailing the work undertaken by our teams of HETAS-registered stove fitters.
TESTING AND COMMISSIONING
As part of each stove installation carried out by Hot Box, every appliance is tested and commissioned to ensure it operates correctly.
The process involves lighting a small fire to check connections and the adequacy of the draw. To ensure consistency, we use the Firestarter, the most convenient way to light a wood burner.
Usually, the process of lighting the stove for the first time is demonstrated to our clients to ensure they understand the relevant air controls and mechanisms on their woodburner.
