Lighting your Stuv Stove
How to light Stuv Stoves is a question that we are frequently asked.
Some of the models in the range different from other wood burners due to the retractable door.
When lighting a wood burner, it is often prudent to leave the door ajar to allow greater airflow.
However, with a Stuv stove, and a retractable door, this might not necessarily be the case.
Leaving a retractable door ajar during the install phase in a Stuv stove is not always possible.
This is due to the fact that Stuv stoves can operate as open appliances too.
As such, extra care might be needed when lighting a Stuv stove.
However, at Hot Box, we have found the solution using our patented firelighter.
The example below depicts a Stuv 16 Cube being lit using Hot box ® Firestarter.
Noteworthy, the door was not left ajar during this process and the air intake was left fully open.
Due to the unique stack of components inside Hot Box ® Firestarter the Stuv stove lights easily without any intervention or additional air.

Now, let us look at an example with a retractable door.
The Stuv 22 range offer large fireboxes and a retractable door which may be more difficult to light. However, using Hot Box ® Firestarter, the process becomes easy.
Hot Box recommend placing a single firestarter inside the box. Then, simply stack some logs around the unit and light.
Thereafter, close the retractable door and open the air controls fully.
Within 5 minutes, you will have the perfect fire every time, without fail.
The video below illustrates just how easy this process can be when using our unique firelighter.
Further, there is no need for kindling, simply add logs, et voila…
