Stove Project Overview

Hot Box Stoves was asked to survey a newly purchased property in order to replace an old and worn out open fireplace with a new contemporary and eco-friendly wood-burning stove.

With that in mind, a Parkray Aspect 5 was recommended, the Aspect 5 series have a level 5 Clear Skies certification and are Eco Design and DEFRA approved. Even with their generous maximum output, Parkray Aspect 5 has impressively low CO emission, which means you can keep warm whilst being environmentally friendly.

Our customers were pleased with the recommendation, they were particularly drawn to its contemporary design with a sleek body and a large window which allows for the fire to be enjoyed to the fullest.

Before commencing the work, the old fireplace and hearth were removed. As always temporary floor protection was placed in the area where the works were taking place as well as access through the property. A 900mm x 900mm fireplace opening was created and lined with fireboards ready to be painted by our customers. The chimney was lined with Schiedel 316 – grade twin skin flue liner and completed with a pot hanging cowl. 

As with every installation we carry out, CO/Carbon Monoxide Alarm as well as a chimney notice plate outlining the details of the installation were supplied and fitted.

The customers were very pleased with the work that was carried out. The stove was tested and commissioned using our Hot Box Firestarter.
