Stove Project Overview

Hot Box Stoves was asked to carry out a survey at a property with an old, unused open fireplace. Our customers wanted to replace it with a modern woodburning stove without disturbing the existing recess and hearth. Taking into account the recess depth and the size of the room, they opted for a Panoramic FX1 stove, a contemporary stove with an innovative design and a large panoramic window that offers an illusion of a large open log burning fire.

The Panoramic FX 1 stove is a modern and efficient woodburning stove designed to provide a stunning view of the flames. One of the key features of the Panoramic FX 1 stove is its advanced airwash system, which helps to keep the glass clean and clear, providing an unobstructed view of the fire. This not only adds to the stove’s aesthetic appeal but also ensures that it operates at peak efficiency, burning wood cleanly and effectively.

It has a heat output of up to 8kW, making it suitable for heating medium to large-sized rooms.

The Panoramic FX 1 stove also features a simple but effective primary and secondary air control system, which allows users to control the temperature and burn rate of the fire, providing optimal heat and efficiency.

INSTALLATION

The works began with placing temporary protection in all areas where work was to be carried out. Once the room was protected, the old fireplace was removed.

Next, the chimney was swept and lined with a 316-grade twin skin flue liner. The new stove was placed in the correct position and a galvanized steel plate was fixed to the underside of the recess and sealed with high-temperature sealant. The customer’s new stove was connected with the liner using twin wall chimney components as well as a stove pipe. The chimney flue was completed with the installation of a pot hanging cowl.

Once all debris was disposed of and the area where the stove was installed was cleaned, our HETAS registered engineers performed a smoke test using Firestarter. The smoke test ensures there is an adequate degree of draw and that all connections are sealed. Finally, in accordance with building regulations, a CO/ Carbon Monoxide Alarm and a chimney notice plate were installed.
