Stove Project Overview
Hot Box ® Stoves were engaged to carry out the installation of a Parkray Aspect 4 which was recommended during our home survey.
The Parkray Aspect 4 has an output range between 3kW- 5kW and is approved by DEFRA to burn wood in a smoke-controlled zone.
The Parkray Aspect 4 wood-burning stove is a popular and efficient heating solution for homes. With a sleek and modern design, this stove features a large glass window that provides a clear view of the fire, creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere. The Parkray Aspect 4 has a powerful air wash system that helps keep the glass clean. It has a nominal heat output of 4.5 kW, making it suitable for small to medium-sized rooms, and it has an efficiency rating of up to 81%, which means it can help reduce energy costs. Additionally, it features a multifuel grate that allows you to burn both wood and smokeless fuels, giving you flexibility in your fuel choices.
Further, the appliance is classified as Eco Design Ready and complies with standards documented by Chapter 6 of The Clean Air Act 2019.
The Stove Installation was carried out in accordance with HETAS Guidelines and Document J of Building Regulations.
Firstly, our teams provided temporary protection to our client’s home, standard practice at Hot Box.
Thereafter, a new hearth was installed to provide a non-combustible base for the stove in accordance with current building regulations and the new stove was placed on top of it.
As part of our work to install the wood burner a factory-made twin-wall chimney system was installed to the top of the stove.
Further, mandatory to all stove installations, a new Carbon Monoxide alarm was installed along with a data plate detailing the work undertaken by our teams of HETAS registered stove fitters.
Testing and commissioning
As part of each stove installation carried out by Hot Box, every appliance is tested a commissioned to ensure it operates correctly.
The process involves lighting a small fire to check connections and the adequacy of the draw. To ensure consistency, we use the Firestarter, the most convenient way to light a wood burner.
Usually, the process of lighting the stove for the first time is demonstrated to our clients to ensure they understand the relevant air controls and mechanisms on their woodburner.
Aftersales
At Hot Box, we remain available for the life of your stove installation and offer a range of comprehensive servicing options.
Further, we are more than happy to supply Woodsure-approved, ‘oven-ready’ firewood to all of our customers.
