INSTALLATION
The Stove Installation was carried out in accordance with HETAS Guidelines and Document J of Building Regulations.
To begin with, temporary protection was placed in all areas where work was to be carried out and a gas-safe engineer was instructed to cut/cap off the gas to the recess.
The old fire and inner chair were removed and the flue was swept of debris.
Next, the chimney was lined with a Schiedel 316-grade twin skin flue liner. The stove was placed into a position and a direct air kit was installed to the back of the stove.
Finally, the stove was connected to the flue liner and all connections were sealed with fire-resistant silicone.
The chimney flue installation was completed with a pot hanging cowl.
Further, mandatory to all stove installations, a new Carbon Monoxide alarm was installed along with a data plate detailing the work undertaken by our teams of HETAS-registered stove fitters.
TESTING AND COMMISSIONING
As part of each stove installation carried out by Hot Box, every appliance is tested and commissioned to ensure it operates correctly.
The process involves lighting a small fire to check connections and the adequacy of the draw. To ensure consistency, we use the Firestarter, the most convenient way to light a wood burner.
Usually, the process of lighting the stove for the first time is demonstrated to our clients to ensure they understand the relevant air controls and mechanisms on their woodburner.
