Stove Project Overview

Hot Box ® Stoves were engaged to carry out the installation of a Parkray Aspect 5 which was recommended during our home survey.

STOVE

The Parkray Aspect 5 multi-fuel stove is a stylish and efficient heating appliance designed to provide warmth and ambience to any living space. With a nominal output of 5kW, it offers a comfortable level of heat that can easily be adjusted to suit your needs. The stove’s heat output range is between 4kW and 7kW, allowing you to enjoy a gentle, subtle warmth or a more intense and cosy atmosphere. This flexibility ensures that you can create the perfect ambience for any occasion, whether it’s a quiet evening at home or a gathering with friends and family. One of the notable features of the Parkray Aspect 5 is its impressive efficiency rating of 80%. This means that a significant portion of the fuel’s energy is converted into heat, minimizing waste and maximizing the stove’s performance. The stove’s energy efficiency class is A, which further emphasizes its eco-friendly nature and its ability to effectively heat your home while minimizing carbon emissions. In terms of design, the Parkray Aspect 5 boasts a sleek and modern appearance, making it a visually appealing addition to any room. It combines clean lines with high-quality materials to create a stove that not only heats your space efficiently but also enhances the overall aesthetic of your home. With its multi-fuel capabilities, the Parkray Aspect 5 allows you to burn a variety of fuels, including wood and smokeless coal. Further, the appliance is classified as Eco Design Ready and complies with standards documented by Chapter 6 of The Clean Air Act 2019.

INSTALLATION

The Stove Installation was carried out in accordance with HETAS Guidelines and Document J of Building Regulations.

To start with, the stove was placed on a teardrop-shaped matt granite-style hearth. A black Schiedel Twin Wall Chimney System was installed to the top of the stove vertically through the ceiling and roof covering and continued to a height in accordance with Document J of Building Regulations. Following that, a suitable lead flashing kit was installed together with a storm collar; the chimney system was completed with an anti-down draft cowl.

Further, mandatory to all stove installations, a new Carbon Monoxide alarm was installed along with a data plate detailing the work undertaken by our teams of HETAS-registered stove fitters.

TESTING AND COMMISSIONING

As part of each stove installation carried out by Hot Box, every appliance is tested and commissioned to ensure it operates correctly.

The process involves lighting a small fire to check connections and the adequacy of the draw. To ensure consistency, we use the Firestarter, the most convenient way to light a wood burner.

Usually, the process of lighting the stove for the first time is demonstrated to our clients to ensure they understand the relevant air controls and mechanisms on their woodburner.
