Stove Project Overview
A regular client of ours recently purchased a new townhouse which had some superb original features.
Our brief in this instance was to install a modern wood stove whilst retaining the decorative fire surround.
A delicate operation requiring attention to detail and the right choice of appliance that would convent the neat out of the recess and away form the surround.
Further, we were instructed to retain the original hearth as part of our work. However, a new back hearth had to be installed to finish flush with the decorative tiles to the front hearth.
The existing fire was removed and the recess cleared out to reveal the original opening behind the previously installed cast iron grate.
The end result
A property on a serious scale. We needed 16m of flexible flue liner and a cherry picker to install the flue into the recess on a busy road into the centre of York.
Once the recess was formed we set about getting our harnesses on and hoisting the liner up to chimney level using the hydraulic platform.
Liner installed we could then set about connecting one of the latest offerings from Stuv, the 6H.
A perfect fit into the exiting recess and perfect for heating the room.
Inside the fireplace our fire proof boards were used to provide a paintable finish.
A tricky stove installation sensitively executed by our skilled HETAS engineers, plus our friendly cherry picker chap too.
