Stove Project Overview

Hot Box® Stoves recently carried out a couple of installations in two newly built bungalows in Strensall.

Our client wanted a small, solidly built and efficient stove. With this in mind, our project manager suggested Burley Launde.

Burley produces the cleanest and least polluting stoves in the world. Their unique technology ensures that only 0.1g of particles escape through a chimney, which is 1/30th of what is allowed for EcoDesign.

Both installations were completed in one day starting with placing temporary protection from the point where our fitters enter the property through to the room where the installation was undertaken.

Before the stove installation, both properties had air vents and Black Schiedel twin wall chimney systems installed together with a flashing kit and suitable storm collar. Both twin wall chimney systems were completed with anti-down draft cowls.

Once the twin wall chimney systems were in place, the stoves were positioned in the middle of D shaped matt granite hearts and connected.

As always both stoves were smoke tested using Firestarter to ensure there is an adequate degree of draw and all connections were sealed.

Lastly, Co/Carbon Monoxide alarms, as well as chimney notice plates, were installed.
