Stove Project Overview
A new flat roof extension required an additional heat source and focal point.
A small free standing wood burner fitted the bill perfectly.
Hot Box were engaged to install a new Parkway stove through the flat roof area on behalf of our client.

The end result
Fitting a flue through a flat roof can often be a challenge for many.
We are frequently asked to rectify installations done by others where the roof penetration of the flue has not been properly addressed.
Importantly, and in conjunction with GNR Roofing Services, Hot Box were able to advise the client on the best way to form the roof penetration before the roof covering was fitted by others.
Importantly, an insulated upstand should be built to house the flue and roof penetration.
By doing this, a proper lead flashing can be purpose made around the flue and lead welded in position.
In this instance, we also added the free air ventilation for the stove to the same housing.
The result is a full watertight lead detail which will be watertight for many winters to come.
Ok, so the builders had not done the flat roof yet so we were unable to properly dress the lead. However, we will pop back once it’s ready for us to do so.
