Thereafter, a legend outlining features, symbols and options sets the scene for tweaks and adjustments that are available across the product range.
In brief and importantly, these can be understood as follows:
- RLA | Refers to stoves which take their combustion air from the room where they are installed. Not via a direct air connection.
- RLU | Stoves which can be connected to a direct air connection, air for combustion is supplied directly to the stove, not from the room of installation.
- Rotatable | As it seems, stoves that can rotate, rotating stoves for use across two spaces. Further, such stoves can also be secured in a fixed position for cleaning and refilling.
- Heat Storage Mass on top | Stoves that have a stone or similar thermal mass constructed into the unit. As the stove heats, as does the mass, this will retain heat and radiate it into the room even after the fire has extiguished.
- Heat Storage mass lateral | As above but placed to the side of the unit where height is a consideration.
- Extension elements | Items such as log stores, tool compartments or other ingenious cubbies.
- H2O | Such units are common referred to as boiler stoves. However, Spartherm units operate with heat exchangers built into the top of the stove. Such exchangers extract heat from flue gasses and make it available to hot water storage tanks known as buffer vessels. Thereafter this water van be used for showers, batches or to operate underfloor heating.
Moreover, there are a range of other symbols which relate to heat output and other more mundane elements of a given stoves function.
